Pre deceased by his parents Violet & Richard Crann, brother Earnest & sister Effie.
Leaving to mourn with loving memories his wife Myrtle, four children Linda(Eugene), Roy (Ronda), Derrick (Tina), & Paula (Don).
Seven grandchildren & 11 great grandchildren, Four sisters Shirley, Gertrude, Phyllis & Lillian, one brother Ellwood & numerous friends and neighbours.
Memorial service will be held Monday July 30, 2018 @ 3 PM at the Fair Haven community center.

Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on July 15, 2018, Ruby Louise Newhook of Norman’s Cove in her 88th year. Predeceased by her parents, John and Winnie Piercey and infant son, John. Left to celebrate her life with beautiful and loving memories, her husband of seventy years, Absalom John. Her children: Linda (Aaron Mercer), Roger (Beulah), David (Lori), Eric (Valerie), Jennie (Lloyd), Philip (Karen), Keith (Laurie), Peter (Donna). 25 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren; Sisters: Jennie (Jim Varner), Myrtle Hiscock, Doreen (Dick Riche) and brother Don (Winnie). Brother in Law: Joseph, sisters sin law: Verna and Hazel as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation on Monday, July 16, 2018 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Tuesday, July 17, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM at the Good Shepherd Anglican Church. Funeral service to be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday; interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Norman’s Cove.

August 6, 1929 – July 9, 2018

Passed peacefully away at her daughter’s home where she resided, in the company of her loving family, Marcella Thorne aged 88 years old.

Predeceased by her father Lawrence Fahey of Tickle Harbour, mother Mary Ellen Fahey of Chapel Arm, husbands Thomas Lewis and Clarence Thorne.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her 9 children: Madonna (Kevin), Nellie, Veronica (Don), Kathleen (Dale), Shirley (Freeman), Kenneth (Casey), Bernice (Kevin). Also loved and remembered by 20 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, as well as a large circle of family and friends and her two companions, cats Smokey and Bandit.

Resting at Sacred Heart Church, Bellevue.

Funeral Mass will be held at 5pm at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Bellevue on Thursday, July 12.

It is with great sadness we announce that Hubert Noseworthy of Chapel Arm passed peacefully away on Thursday July 5,2018 at the Health Sciences Center at the age of 79 years.

Predeceased by his parents Reuben & Beatrice Noseworthy, brother Jim, sister in law Alice Noseworthy, in laws Gordon & Julie Warren.

Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 56 years, Mona. 4 children: Glenn(Lorie)Noseworthy, Wanda(Derrick) Marsh, Denise(Roy) Newhook, Donna(Mervin)Piercey.

7 grandchildren: Nicole(Jeff), Jason, Ashley, Matthew, Tiffany, Cassie, Krista.
1 great grandson Logan.

Arthur J. Brothers November 13, 1921 – June 27, 2018
Arthur Brothers passed peacefully away on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at the Caribou Veterans Memorial Pavilion, St. John’s at the age of 96. He is predeceased by his wife Lucy of 52 years, his parents Dora and Clifford, five brothers: Gordon (Grey Islands), Ford (Fermeuse), Lar (Long Harbour), Reg (Charlottetown)and Bill (Corner Brook); two sisters: Patricia Infante (Ontario) and Marie Farrison (Ohio), also sister in laws Frances and Mary and brother in laws Al and Mario (Ontario), Max and Jack (St. John’s). Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his 6 children: Jerry (Beulah), Kay (Anthony Keating), Monnie, Ann (Alton), Gerard (Pats) and Clifford (Carolann); five sisters: Gladys Usry, USA, Florence (Al Hopper) Ontario, Ann (Max Butler), Shir (Gary Hitchcock), Ontario, Beth (Jack Keating) and one brother Gord (Cecilia), Long Harbour and sister in law Mabel, Prince Edward Island. Also leaving to mourn are his 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, special neighbours Rita and Jerome Keating (Ontario) and a large circle of friends, as well as his dog Fido who was his faithful companion for a number of years. We are very grateful to the staff at the Veterans Memorial Pavilion for the excellent care he received for the past 22 months.
Arthur truly loved playing cards, especially crib. He worked hard all his life and enjoyed family gatherings, parties and dancing. He was a great carpenter and one of his favourite hobbies was making all sorts of crafts from coffee and end tables, crib boards, shelves, bookcases and windjacks.

Predeceased by her husband John “Jack” Barrett, daughters Daffodil and Holly, great grandson Mitchell Russell, parents John and Lily Clarke, sisters Maud Peddle, Mary Mercer and brother Joe Clarke.

Chesley Malcom Gosse

GOSSE, Chesley Malcom. On Thursday, May 3, 2018, Chesley Gosse of Whitbourne passed away after a brief illness at Carbonear Hospital at the age of 89 years.

Born on October 25, 1928, he was the oldest of twelve children of John and Beatrice Gosse.

Predeceased by his loving wife Margaret (Stevenson) in 1968; parents John & Beatrice Gosse; brothers Frank, Edward, John & Sidney; sisters Bertie (Eddie), Elsie (Ted) & Thelma; parents-in-law George & Susie Stevenson; brothers in law Ronald Stevenson & George Robbins.

Chesley enjoyed a lifetime of work starting with the Newfoundland Railway in his early years and later as a Provincial Government employee in the Public Works Department as well as in the sawmill industry. In his “leisure” time, he enjoyed building lawn furniture & garbage boxes, hunting, trouting and in later years a great game of poker, especially with his grandchildren.
