It is with tremendous heavy hearts that the family of Linda Maralyn Ralph (nee

Walker) announces her passing at the Health Sciences Center December 17, 2018

after a short, but courageous battle with Cancer at the age of 61 years. Linda is

predeceased by her loving parents Harold and Alice Walker of Norman’s Cove, her

parents-in-law John Sr. and Viola Ralph, and her brother-in-law Dermott Driscoll.

Leaving to mourn with cherished memories are her husband of 43 years John Jr.;

sons Corey (Lloyd), Colin (Paulette), Jason (Lisa); grandchildren Alexis, Rebecca and

Peter; sisters Pearl Driscoll, Barbara Jean (Marcel), Hilda Hynes (Alan); brother

Stanley Walker; in-laws Mary and Eli Hollett, Patrick and Rose Ralph, Tony and

Peggy Ralph, Theresa and Wade Critch, Eugene and Connie Ralph, Ellie Ralph and

George French, Eileen and Mervel Smith; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family

and friends. The Ralph family would like to extend extreme appreciation to the extensive care

teams at the Health Sciences Center (HSC), St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, Dr. William. H.

Newhook Community Health Centre (Whitbourne) and the William R. Bliss Cancer

Center. A very special thanks to Dr. Squibb (family physician), Dr. Lester (medical

oncologist), Dr. Tyler (radiation oncologist and palliative care), Dr. Russell and Dr.

Taylor (thoracic surgeons), Dr. Pierce (cardiologist) and numerous physicians,

residents and medical students; nursing staff at HSC 4SA, 4SB, 4NA, emergency and

cancer centre and the nursing staff at St. Clare’s. Additionally, the family would like

to extend a very special thanks to Carmel Collins (nurse practitioner, pain

management and palliative care), who was an indispensable member of Linda’s care

team. Linda was loved by all those who knew her. She was the Post Master in Bellevue for

20+ years and during that time, greeted the community of Bellevue residence with a

daily smile, a chat and a listening ear. She loved her career and working in her

community. Linda was an active member of the Bellevue community and in past

years participated in plays and concerts, sang in the church choir, provided for those

in need and offered help at every turn without complaint or hesitation. Linda’s love

of knitting, crocheting, sewing, quilting, scrapbooking and other paper arts not only

provided personal satisfaction, but the products of these activities will ensure her

family and friends have precious keepsakes to hold dear. Resting at Sacred Heart Roman

Catholic Church, Bellevue visitations Tuesday from 5-8p.m., Wednesday 11-4, and Thursday 10-12.

Wake service to take place  Wednesday at 7 p.m. followed by Funeral Mass Thursday at 2 p.m.

Linda loved the Christmas season and it is her wish that any flowers be in her

favourite Christmas colours (red, white and green). In lieu of flowers, donations

may be made to the SPCA St. John’s, the Sacred Heart Church (Bellevue) or any other

charity of your choice.

Margaret Mary (Hyde) Lynch

LYNCH, Margaret Mary (Hyde).  August 8, 1932 – December 8, 2018. Passed away peacefully away at the Pte. Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion, Carbonear, NL.  age 86 of Bellevue, NL. Predeceased by husband of 49 years Sandy. Leaving to mourn 6 daughters; Frances (Phil), Elizabeth (Fred),  Peggy (Mike), Karen, Christina (Ken), Anne Marie. 3 sons; Sandy (Danette), Marty, Tommy (Carol).  11 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, 2 sisters; Bridie Lynch & Kay McCarthy. Also a large circle of  other family and friends. Resting at Sacred Heart Church, Bellevue . Tuesday, Dec. 11  from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. Wednesday, Dec 12 from 10:00 am – 9:00 pm. Barrett Frederick Gordon (Fred)

BARRETT – Frederick Gordon (Fred), 70 of Whitbourne, formerly of Bell Island, passed in peace, November 28th, 2018. Predeceased by his father John Barrett; mother Elsie Barrett; mother-in-law Marion Brazil; father-in-law Harold Brazil; sister Joyce Decker; brother Max Barrett.  Fred’s most cherished part of life was his family.  Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 49 years, Ruby; children John (Connie); Cynthia (Andrew); his 2 grandsons who were his pride and joy John and Matthew.  Sister’s;  Florence(Clyde);  Loretta (predeceased Bob); Gladys (John); twin sister Nina (Jim);  Marjorie (Jim); Jean( Jim); brother’s Winston (Marilyn);  Ches (Mary); Bob (Sue).  Also mourning his loss are a large circle of nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.  Cremation has taken place, Service will take place at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, Monday December 3rd at 11:00 am.  Burial to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetary in Whitbourne.  As an expression of sympathy, flowers gratefully declined. Leslie James (Jim) Fowler

Fowler, Leslie James (Jim), 70, of Long Harbour, passed in peace, November 20th, 2018. Predeceased by mother Elizabeth Fowler; Foster parents Uncle Nicky and Aunt Mary Ann; sisters Margie, Lavina and Gloria; Foster siblings Patrick, Katie and Jackie; Brothers-in-law Kevin and Junior and parents-in-law Vincent and Catherine Keating.

Jim’s most cherished part of his life was his family. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 46 years, Marion; Children Nick(Carlene), Chad(Tracy), Christy(John), Jennifer(Brian); His 7 grandchildren who were his pride and joy; Erica, Erin, Emma, Jacob, Issac, Vincent and Carter. Sisters Shirley(Gerald) and Betty(Herb) and brother-in-law Ron. Foster siblings Margaret and sister Jane. After years of searching, he was finally united with sisters Vickie(Cliff) of Fortworth, Texas and Renee of Virgina Beach, Virgina. HOLLETT, Mary Margaret.November 3, 1926, Passed away peacefully at G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on October 21, 2018  age 91 years. Predeceased by husband Harold, daughter Dorothy, son Melvin. Leaving to mourn children; Eli (Mary), Raymond (Marjorie), Lorraine ( Raymond), Cecil (Daphne), Ruby (Eugene), Marilyn (George),David (Iris), Barry (Judy), Georgina (Cleophas), Todd (Marilyn), Steven (Susan. 27 Grandchildren,  32 Great grandchildren, 4 Great great grandchildren. Passed peacefully away in the loving care of her family on Tuesday Oct 2nd 2018.
Predeceased by her beloved son Joey and beloved sister Ursula.

Aggie was loved dearly by her husband of 56 years Cecil. Cherished mother of Ella (Walter), Wanda (John) ,Cecil (Janet), Sherry (Chris). She adored her 9 grand-children Paul, Jolene (Curt), Stacy (Veronica), Todd(Megan) ,Cheryl (John), Matthew (Amy), Kyle, Megan and Shane. Great grand-children Cadence, Michael and Carter. Brother Joe (Sharon), sisters in law Catherine, Celine and Agnes (Ron) and a large number of relatives and close friends. Aggie was surrounded by her family who all loved and adored her so much.

Although we have heavy hearts by her passing, we all remember mom as a very loving, kind, compassionate and beautiful lady who loved and was loved by everyone she met. Moms family was her life. She had an amazing sense of humor, was an avid gardener and talented quilter. She had a genuine affection for people and an incredible connection with children. She adored her mother in law Mrs.Nell (predeceased) her sister Ursula (predeceased) and brother in law Anslem (predeceased).

Cremation has taken place. Visitation for family and friends Friday, October 5th at Holloway’s Funeral Home in Whitbourne from 10 am to 8 pm. Funeral service to be held on Saturday, October 6th at St. Jerome’s Church in Long Harbour at 10:30 am.

We welcome you to come celebrate her life at the reception to follow at the Long Harbour Community Centre. Norman Collett

Norman Victor Collett,January 22, 1934 – September 20, 2018. It is with deep sadness that the family of Norman Collett (aged 84 years) of Fair Haven, announces his peaceful passing on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2018 from Pleasantview Towers, St. John’s. Surrounded by his loving family he slipped quietly into eternal sleep where his soul shall rest in everlasting peace. Born and raised in Fair Haven, Norman married Wendy Masters ( also of Fair Haven) on May 26th, 1962 and they made their home in “The Bottom” where they shared life together and raised their family. To his wife he was a faithful husband of 56 years and to his three sons, two daughters and ten grandchildren he was a devoted father and grandfather. Norman is predeceased by : Son, Darrell; Parents, Ernest and Mildred; Sisters, Breta and Phylis; and an infant sibling. Stella Blanche Elliott Morgan

Elliott Morgan, Blanche passed peacefully away on September 19, 2018 at the age of 72 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Blanche will be lovingly remembered by her husband Graham, her daughter Roxanne, son-in-law Gordon King and grand daughters Leigha and Emily ( Caledon, Ontario ). Blanche’s  beautiful  smile will always be missed by her brothers, Gordon Pike (June), Wayne and Tom, her sister Ada Pardy (Ned), special uncle Leo Hardiman and also by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by her late husband John Elliott, parents John and Florence Pike, Special  aunt Lillian and nephew Timothy Pardy. Cremation has taken place and a funeral service will be held at St. Hilda’s Church in Bay L’ Argent A0E 1B0 on Monday, September 24 at 1:00 pm. REID, Vernon Henry, July 6, 1939 -Sept. 19, 2018. Well known businessman, Vernon Reid, passed away suddenly ay Newhook’s Clinic, Whitbourne, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by infant daughter, Valerie Jean,mother & father Fred & Bessie Reid, parents-in-law Samuel & Marcella Mercer, brothers; Fred & Darrell Reid, sister-in-law Vinnie & brother-in-law Robert Mercer Sr & Raymond Gosse  Leaving to mourn his wife of 61 years Melba, daughter Darlene (Rodney Moores). Margaret Norman

Margaret Norman, On September 13, 2018 the world lost a big heart and heaven gained a beautiful soul. Margaret Norman (nee Jackman) at the age of 69 took her last breath surrounded by much love while waiting in the wings to greet her home were her father Edward Jackman (1984), mother Rose Jackman (1993), mother-in-law Margaret Norman (1994), and father-in-law Mark Norman (1996). Left to honour her life is her husband of 49 years Gerry, her children Kim (Rob) Denis and Craig. Also her three grandsons Gregory, Luc, and Kyle, who were the center of her life along with her two great granddaughters Emily and Haleigh. She will be forever remembered by her brother Peter Jackman (pre-deceased Gloria), sister Fran Walsh (pre-deceased Harvey), and in-laws Mark (Monnie) Norman, Merrill (Donna) Norman, Yvonne (Pius) Greene, Morris (Delores) Norman, Grace (Ted) King, and Maureen Norman. Also many extended family and friends. At her request, cremation has taken place and family invite relatives and friends to visit on Friday, September 21, 2018 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Long Harbour between 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A funeral service to be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at St. Francis Xavier Church at 11 am with a reception to follow to the Long Harbour Community Centre. In lieu of flowers, she asked that donations be made to the Gathering Place. Although we have heavy hearts by her passing, we remember her amazing sense of humour and genuine affection for people through our tears.
