MERCER, Clarence Edwin, Passed away suddenly at the Health Science Center, St. John’s, on Tuesday, February 6th. 2018 in his 71st year, Clarence Edwin Mercer, Whitbourne. Predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Minnie Mercer, brother Melvin and his wife Fiona. Leaving to mourn with precious memories his loving and devoted wife of 46 years, Shelagh (nee O’ Reilly); children, Kristi (Darren) Sooley, Shawn Mercer (Misha), Heather Mercer (Barney); brother, Wayne (Brenda); precious grandchildren, Nathan, Ella, Patrick, Heidi, Kenneth, Samuel, Ally and Taylor. As well as a large number of relatives and friends, and his devoted feline friend, Bully-Boy. Visitation will be held at Holloway’s Funeral Home, Whitbourne, on Thursday, February 8th, 2018 from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm and Friday, February 9th, between 11:00 am -4:00 pm and 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 10th, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Trinity United Church, Blaketown. She knit for Nonia in St. Johns for 50 years & her many sweaters, mitts & socks are seen, likely all over the world. Mom was a member of the United Church choir & was also a lifetime member of the UCW & supported & enjoyed the church greatly. She was also an avid Skipbo player & loved a game of bingo.
