James Joseph Fahey
FAHEY, JAMES Joseph, It is with sadness that we announce the passing of James Joseph Fahey of Bellevue,age 79 years. passed peacefully away at Placentia health care on April 19,2018.predeceased by his mother Regina Fahey. Leaving to mourn his sister Patricia Fahey, his brother William Fahey. Nieces Maureen Taylor (Rick) Lisa McCarthy. Great nieces Amanda and Tammy. And a circle of family and friends. We would like to thank The nurses and doctors of the Placentia health care . Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 24 at Holloway’s Funeral Home Whitbourne. From 9 AM to 2 PM.
Ronald Nowlan
NOWLAN, Ronald. Passed peacefully away at Clarenville Hospital in the presence of his wife Phyllis and son Darrin on April 20, 2018 at the age of 75. Predeceased by daughter’s Sherry & Vickie. parents Russell & Ella. brother; Russell Jr. He is survived by sister Sheila Coombs & husband Ron. Also numerous nieces and nephews & cousins. Special thanks to sister-in-law Linda for all her help. Resting at the United Church, Fair Haven. Visitation Saturday, April 21 from 2:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Funeral service will be held at a 2:00 pm on April 22, 2018. Interment at the United Cemetery, Fair Haven.
Anthony Nolan
NOLAN, Anthony, It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anthony Nolan of Mount Arlington Heights/Long Harbour in his 98th year. Anthony was born on January 18, 1920 and passed on April 19, 2018 at the Placentia Health Centre, surrounded by his loving family by his side.
He is predeceased by his parents, James and Maria Nolan, In-laws Maurice and Bridget Keating and his best friend and companion of 53 years Eileen Keating. Also predeceased by his siblings and In-laws John and Bertha Nolan, Mary Jane and Dennis Keating, Jim Nolan, Elizabeth and Patrick Hickey, Mike and Anna Nolan, Henry Murphy, Wilfred Sanford, Cecil Greene and Patrick Keating, .brother-in-law Jack Keating Nieces and nephews, Kevin Nolan, Dennis Keating and Kelly Greene, nephew Kenneth Murphy.
Left with fond and loving memories are his sisters Doarann Murphy and Margaret Sanford and sisters-in-law Laura Nolan, Mary Greene and Jenny and Beth Keating. He also leaves many special nieces and nephews, too many to mention who will miss him dearly. He also leaves a community of lifelong friends. Anthony embraced his 98 years with loyality and always a possitive attitude. He always had a pleasant face with a smile. He was a jovial soul who loved lots of fun and laughs. He worked many years with CN Marine and shared many fond momories. His family would like to extend gratitude to staff at Beachside Manor, where he received quality care for the past two years. We also acknowlege his roommate Raymond Traverse. As well, we thank doctors and staff at Placentia Health Centre for their care over the years.
Resting at Holloway’s Funeral Home, Whitbourne on Saturday, April 21 from 2:00 -9:00 pm. Visitation at the Roman Catholic Church, Long Harbour, Sunday, April 22 with visitation 2:00 – 9:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 23 at 2:00 pm. NO FLOWERS BY REQUEST. Donations may be made in Anthony’s name to the Roman Catholic Cemetery Fund, Long Harbour.

Gordon George Murphy
Gordon Murphy, aged 68, of Mt. Arlington Heights-Long Harbour, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2018 at St. John’s Health Sciences Center surrounded by his family.
Gordon started fishing with his father at a young age where he developed mechanical skills. Later his skills in the mechanical field would be respected coast to coast as he mentored many including two of his boys in the trade. Gordon was not only inter-provincially licensed red seal heavy equipment and automotive mechanic but multi skilled handy man who was no stranger to helping friends and neighbors in need. He raised four boys who respected and loved him unconditionally. Gordon will be sadly missed by his large family, many co-workers and friends across Canada.
Pre-deceased by parents George and Elizabeth and brothers Michael, John Pat, Eric, and Tony. Left to mourn his wife of 45 years Sheila (Browne), their four sons Bradley (Sheryl), Brett (Lori ), Brock (Claudette) and Blake: grandchildren: Jordan, Jacobb, Madison, Julia, Drayton, Kenzie; siblings Arnold (Anne), Andy (Margie), Gerry(Lorraine), Roy (Jeanie), Ted (Patrina), Raymond, Alex (Tammy), Mary (Tom), Betty Anne (Mark), Georgina, Lori. He also leaves to mourn Sheila’s siblings Derm (Mary), Brendan (Laura),Pat (Marjorie), Kevin (Bernie) , Jim (Sheila), Bill (Marje), Howard (Pam), Betty (Francis), Joan (Melvin).
Resting at Holloway’s Funeral Home Thursday, April 12th 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm and Friday, April 13th 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Funeral services at St. Jerome’s Catholic Church Long Harbour Friday April 13th at 2:00 pm.
