Christopher Darren Griffin

October 7th, 1987 – June 1st, 2023

It is with great sadness that the family of Christopher Griffin announce his sudden but peaceful passing in the arms of his mother on June 1st, 2023. Forever remembered and dearly loved by both parents, Darren Griffin (Shirley Clowe) and Juanita Mercer (Ray Kerfont). Siblings Mitchell Griffin (Victoria Blackmore) and Laura Griffin. Both grandmothers, Linda Mercer, and Sadie Griffin. Predeceased by both grandfathers, Vincent Griffin, and Aaron Mercer. Also, his cousin Coady Griffin and his Aunt Jennie Enwood and Uncle Ed Griffin.
Chris had many aunts and uncles that dearly cherished him and have shared such fond memories of their love for him. Chris is also survived by many cousins that will always remember his affectionate laugh, his beautiful smile, and the way he was quick to open his arms for that big bear hug.
Chris was known for his huge heart and saucy, quick wit. Growing up he had his family wrapped around his finger with his silly, lovable ways. As a teen, Chris quickly won the hearts of every person he met. Ask anyone about Chris and they’ll say he had the softest heart. He made countless friendships. Some of his greatest memories were from his high school days. Days and nights spent on the garden in Chapel or down Long Harbour track. Surrounded by his friends, guitar in hand, singing out songs that he felt right to his core.
Many of these friendships carried through to adulthood. He enjoyed many days and nights hanging out with “the boys” around town. He was a lucky man to be surrounded by so many people who genuinely loved him.
Special thanks to his family and close friends that visited during his last days at the hospital. Also, a huge thanks to the doctors and nurses on 6 east, SCM, who were angels to Chris and his family while he was there.

“But I know we can’t all stay here forever, so I’m gonna write my words on the face of today”

“The loss is immeasurable but so is the love left behind”

Visitation will take place Tuesday, June 6th from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the Anglican church in Norman’s Cove.
Funeral will take place Wednesday, June 7th at 2:00 PM.
