Annie Mae Hindy

It is with deepest sympathy that we announce the passing of our beloved grandmother, Annie Mae Hindy who passed away peacefully on May 30th 2024 at the age of 89 at Josiah Squib Pavilion Home in Carbonear. She was surrounded by her loving grandchildren in her final moments leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and unyielding love.
Born on March 22, 1935 in New Melbourne, NL, Anne was the heart of her family and the pillar in her community. She was known for her generous spirit, infectious laughter, and her remarkable ability to make everyone feel special and loved.
Anne dedicated her life to her family. She is survived by her 3 grandchildren: Jason Kriegel (Dwayne Kriegel), Paul Fellows & Tiffany Hindy, her 7 great grandchildren: Timothy, Amanda, Michael, Ashlee, Kyra, Jenna, & Jay. Sister: Greta Banton and many nieces and nephews who will forever cherish the memories and lessons she imparted. Her home was always open, a sanctuary of love, comfort and delicious homemade meals, where countless holidays and family gatherings were celebrated.
Anne is preceded in death by her husband: Angus Doucette. Children: Loretta Kriegel (Kerry Kriegel), & Wayne Hindy. Sister: Clara Clark. Brother: Eldon Harris and parents Stella Mansfield-Harris & John Harris.
Her life was a testament of love, resilience, and the importance of family. She enjoyed knitting and cooking which were her passions.
A funeral service to honor Anne’s life will be held on Monday, June 3rd at 11:00am at Holloway’s Funeral home located in the town of Whitbourne, NL. Friends and family are invited to celebrate her life, share their memories, and say their goodbyes. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the dementia society of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Anne’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Though she may no longer be with us in body, her spirit, love, and the lessons she taught us will continue to guide us. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Rest in peace, Anne. Your love and light will forever shine in our hearts. Until we meet again.

Clarence Smith

SMITH, Clarence, It is with great sadness we announce the passing of a dear husband, father, grand-father and great grand-father and brother. Clarence Smith of Norman’s Cove.

Predeceased by parents Seymour & Lucy Smith.  Infant brother Donald Seymour, sister-in-law Delores and brother-in-law Todd.

Leaving to mourn are his beloved wife of 59 years Mary. Son Warren (Joanne ), daughters Alisa (Noel), Collette (Peter). Grand-children; Devin (Candace), William (Krystie),Noelle(  Travis), Jessie (Jon), Brandon (Amber), Riley and Abby. Great Grand-children; Jaydah, Elaina, Mia, Ella, Anna, Camden, Kenzlie, and Lucas.

Brother’s;  Bill (Madeline), Mike, Leon (Anita), Ern Glennis), Merril (Charlotte) , Rick ( Carla). Sisters;  Phoebe  (Wilf). Sheri.

He had a great Passion for the Argo outdoors and was happiest driving the Argo over the bog to get to the pond to trout. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren

We would like to thank the staff at Carbonear General Hospital for their care in his final days. Also a heartfelt thank  you  to Amber, Tam & Josie for your kindness and caring over the years.

Visitation  at The Bethel United Church, Norman’s Cove on Saturday at 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 pm. Funeral will take place on Sunday, at  3:00 pm from Bethel United Church, Norman’s Cove.  Interment to follow at the United Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may  be made to Bethel United Church Fund, Norman’s Cove or The Ronald McDonald House.
