NOLAN, Anthony, It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anthony Nolan of Mount Arlington Heights/Long Harbour in his 98th year. Anthony was born on January 18, 1920 and passed on April 19, 2018 at the Placentia Health Centre, surrounded by his loving family by his side.
He is predeceased by his parents, James and Maria Nolan, In-laws Maurice and Bridget Keating and his best friend and companion of 53 years Eileen Keating. Also predeceased by his siblings and In-laws John and Bertha Nolan, Mary Jane and Dennis Keating, Jim Nolan, Elizabeth and Patrick Hickey, Mike and Anna Nolan, Henry Murphy, Wilfred Sanford, Cecil Greene and Patrick Keating, .brother-in-law Jack Keating Nieces and nephews, Kevin Nolan, Dennis Keating and Kelly Greene, nephew Kenneth Murphy.
Left with fond and loving memories are his sisters Doarann Murphy and Margaret Sanford and sisters-in-law Laura Nolan, Mary Greene and Jenny and Beth Keating. He also leaves many special nieces and nephews, too many to mention who will miss him dearly. He also leaves a community of lifelong friends. Anthony embraced his 98 years with loyality and always a possitive attitude. He always had a pleasant face with a smile. He was a jovial soul who loved lots of fun and laughs. He worked many years with CN Marine and shared many fond momories. His family would like to extend gratitude to staff at Beachside Manor, where he received quality care for the past two years. We also acknowlege his roommate Raymond Traverse. As well, we thank doctors and staff at Placentia Health Centre for their care over the years.
Resting at Holloway’s Funeral Home, Whitbourne on Saturday, April 21 from 2:00 -9:00 pm. Visitation at the Roman Catholic Church, Long Harbour, Sunday, April 22 with visitation 2:00 – 9:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 23 at 2:00 pm. NO FLOWERS BY REQUEST. Donations may be made in Anthony’s name to the Roman Catholic Cemetery Fund, Long Harbour.

We were saddened to see that Anthony passed away. We thoroughly enjoyed his story telling and humour, especially ones which involved Argentia. Anthony gave it a great shot to try and reach 100 years. He will be smiling down on us now. RIP Anthony
Uncle Pink, we have many memories of your funny stories, our great visits with you, sharing a beer, a glass of wine or a rye and ginger. You left your great mark and many memories on the lives of the many people you met throughout your life. You lived a great life which you enjoyed to the fullest. We will miss you especially when we visit the rock this year and not have a visit. Rest in peace. We love you and will always miss you but have great memories.
