Norman Collett

Norman Victor Collett,January 22, 1934 – September 20, 2018. It is with deep sadness that the family of Norman Collett (aged 84 years) of Fair Haven, announces his peaceful passing on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2018 from Pleasantview Towers, St. John’s. Surrounded by his loving family he slipped quietly into eternal sleep where his soul shall rest in everlasting peace. Born and raised in Fair Haven, Norman married Wendy Masters ( also of Fair Haven) on May 26th, 1962 and they made their home in “The Bottom” where they shared life together and raised their family. To his wife he was a faithful husband of 56 years and to his three sons, two daughters and ten grandchildren he was a devoted father and grandfather. Norman is predeceased by : Son, Darrell; Parents, Ernest and Mildred; Sisters, Breta and Phylis; and an infant sibling. He leaves to mourn: Wife, Wendy; Daughters, Norma Collett, Sheila Collett(Wayne); Sons, Chris Collett, Dennis Collett(Cristina); Daughter -in-law, Maryanne Vandermeulan and Grand Children, Andrew Rogers, Krysta Rogers, Rachel Collett, Holly Collett, Matthew Collett, Sarah Collett, Lucas Collett, Asher Collett, Ashly Collett, Alexander Collett; Sisters: Rosie Brinston (Albert); Myrtle Thistle (Jim); Brother-in-law Clayton Collins; Mother -in-law, Joan Masters; Sisters-in-law Dorreen(Roy), Beryl Mechenton(Bruce); Brother-in-law, Brian Masters(Sherry); nieces, nephews and large circle of extended family and friends. Resting at St. Paul’s United Church, Fair Haven. Funeral Service to take place on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2018 at 2pm. Interment to follow at United Church Cemetery, Fair Haven. Visitation Saturday from 2pm – 9pm and Sunday 10 – 12. Donations in Norman’s memory gratefully accepted to St. Paul’s by the Sea Cemetery Fund.

    Bert and I are so sad to hear of Norman’s passing.bert has some fond memories of time spent with Norman out in his boat lobster fishing and the boil up after over on the island.we are thinking of you all so much and we hope that all of your wonderful memories will be a comfort to you in the days ahead.
