HOSKINS, Leona Marie , It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Leona Marie Hoskins announce her passing at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville on Friday, June 26, 2020 at the age of 86.  She was born and raised in Ivanhoe, Ireland’s Eye Island to Matthew and Rebecca Ivany. One of six sisters, she was predeceased by Blanche (Lambert), Annie (Jim), Lucy (Harry) and Louisa (Victor).  Leaving to mourn her sister Joanna Ivany and special niece Doreen Pelley (Ed).
At the age of 17 she moved to Bellevue, Trinity Bay and it was there she lived and loved her family, friends and community. She was predeceased by her loving husband William, four baby boys, daughter in law Annie, daughter-in-law Sherri and grandson Dwayne. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of fond and loving memories are her children Helen Coffin (Leo), Tom Hoskins, Louisa Smith (Jim), Josephine Reid (John), Vincent Hoskins (Peggy), Karl Hoskins (Tracey) and Leon Hoskins (Denice).
Nan loved her family dearly and one of her greatest joys was watching her 17 grandchildren run around the house and play in the garden. With 21 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren, she always had lots of love, homemade bread, tea, hugs and kisses to go around. With a love for music, dancing, bingo, knitting and crocheting, she lived a wonderful full life and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A private family viewing will be held at Holloway’s Funeral Home.  A private family service will be held at Holloway’s Funeral Home on Monday, June 29, 2020 at 3:00 pm. Interment to follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery at Bellevue.
We love you, always have always will.

  8. I am so sorry to hear that Aunt Leone had passed away! I spent a lot of time with her when I was a teen helping with the kids and sleeping over with her when Uncle Bill was working away! She was a special lady,a very strong woman who loved her family more than anything!Every time I visited in later years, she took great pleasure in showing the pictures of her children and Grandkids and Great Grandkids…she was so proud of them! My thoughts and prayers are with you all as you say Goodbye to my dear Aunt!
