John Cyril Hepditch  Sept.24,1953-Nov.3,2023

               It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Hepditch. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. John is predeceased by his parents Vita and Cyril Hepditch, brothers Sandy and Dave, and brother-in-law Robert Clarke. Leaving to mourn with fond memories Valerie his wife of 40 years, his son Terry (Karen), his daughter Nicole (Brandon), and the light of his life his two grandchildren Hailey and Tyler.

               Also leaving to mourn are his brothers Ray, Frank, Richard (Bev), Cyril (Bernie), Steve, and sister Monica (Jeff).

               John will be missed by numerous other family and friends including his special friends Eugene Nicholl, Clayton Green, and Mike Denief.

               “You can easily judge the character of a Man by how he treats those who can do nothing for him.”

               John touched the lives of so many people especially in the Town of Whitbourne, where he was a funny dedicated bus driver, A committed firefighter for 50 years, he was a down to earth man whose greatest possession was his family. We will miss him forever.

               Visitation will be held at Holloway’s Funeral Home in Whitbourne Thursday November 9th, 2023 from 2;00-5;00  & 7;00 – 9;00 pm for family and friends. A celebration of John’s life will be held at a later date.

  1. Valerie, Terry, Nicole and family its so sudden that our friend John has been taken away. Valerie we know how close you and John was right from the beginning. I knew he meet the right girl you could see and hear the respect and love he had for you. But now what to do and how to go on. Will I know and if I could speak for John he would expect you and everyone involved to grieve his death tremendously but I also would think that he would say go on in life continue doing the thinks we did together and I will always be by your side. May he rest in true peace! Valerie please accept our sincere condolences on this tremendous loss .

  4. For the short time I knew him he certainly left a lasting impression that is for sure. Always the life of a party, you are gone but you certainly won’t be forgotten!!

  5. To Valerie and family and extended families; I am so sorry to learn of John’s passing . He certainly was a man who was a friend to many , and will certainly be missed . He was a pleasant and kind man to the children when he worked on the school bus runs . I will always remember his kindness to me and my children. RIP John, my friend.   7. John was our bus driver and family friend for many years. If we were not on the side of the road waiting to be picked up, he would stop and blow the horn to make sure we were ready to be picked up on the way back. That’s the kind of person he was.

He also gave us the best bus ride to Placentia when we went to prevocational classes, it was a fast ride and we loved it, heck I am smiling now as I write this.   10. So sorry to hear about John’s passing. I have fond memories of him while I was principal of Whitbourne High School. The trips we took with the hockey team with John as our bus driver will always be wonderful memories. He was very compassionate with the students and was a pleasure to be around. Rest in Peace my friend.

Your Husband and Dad made me laugh many times on my bus ride to school, he was not only my bus driver but entertainer. He always had a smile on his face and was so pleasant. He also taught me a few new words which I did not add to my vocabulary, lol! I remember him always humming or singing as he drove us to school he had a good tune in his heart.   14. Valerie and family: We are beyond devastated with the passing of our dear friend and neighbour John following his short and courageous battle with cancer. We will forever miss his daily phone calls and his visits to the house or out in the garage. He was more than a friend but like a brother and our children and grandchildren loved him. Nothing you asked him was too big or small to do.We will miss him immensely.   22. Great guy, always in a good mood throughout his time with Modern Paving. He was a professional driver and never short of something to say. He always took great pride in his truck and will be missed.

    We are shocked to hear of Johns passing . So sorry for your loss .
    John was a beautiful person , always a smile , a laugh , a warm greeting every time you saw him. He was never too busy to stop and chat and we always enjoyed his visits to the office and mill.
