It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Adrian John Barron at the Palliative Care Unit, L.A. Miller Centre on October 23, 2024, after a short but fierce battle with cancer. Adrian was a devoted father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend. Adrian is predeceased by his parents, Monica and Roger Barron of Riverhead (St. Mary’s Bay), multiple siblings, and members of both his birth and married families.
Left to mourn with broken hearts are his loving wife of over 48 years, Eileen; son Neil and his wife Rhonda; son Steven (Lara deceased); his two grandchildren, Kai and Alyssa; his brothers, Hilary and Craig; his sister, Cattrina; his sisters-in-law, Geraldine and Mary; his brother-in-law, Peter; his best friends, Terry and Joan; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other friends, too numerous to mention.
Adrian spent his life in the construction industry. He was very proud of his efforts, working his way up to managing major construction projects across Canada. He helped build homes, schools, hospitals, and stores. Most importantly, he built a family and group of friends to surround himself with over the years. He made sure that his friends and family always had the help they needed, whether it was home renovations, yard work, or more. He loved animals and was quick to befriend dogs, cats, birds and more. He had to stay busy and loved fishing, hunting, and berry picking. He also loved playing cards and would drop everything to have a few games of 120s or cribbage.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Randy Smith and his team, the team at the Cancer Centre, the staff at the Whitbourne Pharmacy, the Whitbourne Community Health team, his home care worker, and all the family, friends and neighbors that offered or provided support. Thanks are also extended to the very compassionate team at the Palliative Care Centre, and the exceptional nurses and volunteers who took excellent care of Adrian and the family during his final days. Our family will be forever grateful for all of you.
At Adrian’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Inurnment to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Palliative Care Centre at the L.A. Miller Centre.
RIP my brother. Your time on earth and you now move with the angels where you will be looking after us forever more. You will be so missed 😢
I met Adrian many years ago strolling along the beach at Tickle Cove or in his favourite spot near the Tickle Cove wharf, trying his luck at catching sea trout. Deepest Sympathy to all the family.
Eileen and family,I’m so very sorry for your loss. My condolences and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
