It is with loving memories that we celebrate the life of Lydia Newhook who passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Tuesday February 7th 2017 at the age of 87. Lydia was predeceased by her Husband Clarence Newhook; Parents John and Hannah Legge and her Sister Myrtle Peddle. She leaves to mourn with loving memories, Daughters Ruth Burridge, Elizabeth Piercey, Penny Newhook; Son Roger Newhook; 7 Grandchildren; 6 Great Grandchildren; Sisters Susie Smith, Emma Piercey, Bertha Conway; Brother John Legge and also a large circle of Family and Friends.
The Funeral Service will take place on Saturday the 11th of February 2017 at 2:00 PM from the Good Shepherd Anglican Church in Norman’s Cove.
Hazel Shirley Clarke
Hazel Shirley Clarke — September 6, 1946 – February 4, 2017
Passed peacefully away at Health Sciences Centre, Hazel Shirley Clarke of Blaketown.
Shirley was predeceased by: parents, George and Mary Clarke, sister, Marie Clarke, brother, baby boy Clarke, brother-in-law, Eugene Coombs.
She leaves to mourn with loving memories: sisters, Ivy Coombs, Gail (Cecil) Drover, Rhonda (Darrell) Clarke and brothers, Bill (Roslyn), Ed (Yvonne) and Eric; and three generations of nephews and nieces — all of whom Shirley loved dearly and with whom she kept in touch regularly.
Visitation at Holloway’s Funeral Home, Whitbourne, on Sunday, February 5, 2017, from 7-9pm and Monday, February 6, 2017, from 10am-5pm. Cremation to follow.
A memorial service will be held at St. Barnabas Church, Blaketown, on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 2:00 pm. Interment at the Anglican Cemetery, Blaketown, following the memorial service.

Wayne Norman Parsons
Wayne Norman Parsons…… May 12, 1944 – January 28, 2017. Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family at the L.A. Miller Centre on Jan 28, 2017, Wayne Norman Parsons in his 72nd year.
Wayne leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his lifelong partner and wife of 42 years, Linda. sons; Shawn (Juanita), Chad (Tina), Ryan (Kim), Adam ( Jaclyn). Grandchildren; Hailey, Shawna-Rae, Kendra, Jax, all whom he loved very much. sisters, Kelly & Jodi, brothers, Mike, Dana & Jimmy. Mother-in-law Edith, sisters & brothers -in-law.
Visitation at Holloway’s Funeral Home, Whitbourne. Tuesday and Wednesday 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, 2:00 – 5:00 pm, 7:00 – 9:00 pm. Cremation to follow. No flowers by request of the family. Donations may be made in Wayne’s memory to a Charity of One’s Choice.
Roger Stewart Morgan
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Roger Morgan announce his unexpected passing in Whitbourne on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the age of 53 years old. He leaves to mourn with fond, loving memories his lifelong partner and wife of 28 years, Beverley; son Ryan (Amy); Daughter Tara(Michael); grandchildren: Sebastian and Andre; parents Stewart and Carrie Morgan; Sisters: Shona (Terry) and Joanne (Dean), Mother and Father-in- law Ivy and Gerald Vaters, Brother- in- law Shawn Vaters (Christine) as well as a large circle of nieces, uncles, aunts and a close circle of lifelong friends.
Roger loved the outdoors and being active, but most of all he enjoyed the loving company of family and friends. He was known as a patient, helpful man with the ability to keep others grounded. He was an active member of the community and dedicated to his profession as a millwright. Roger had a special love for his children and grandchildren. He leaves us with beautiful memories to celebrate his 53 years of life. His smile and laughter will be forever missed.
Visitation will be held at Holloway’s Funeral Home on January 26th-27th at 10am to 12pm, 1pm-4pm, 6pm-9pm. A funeral service will be held at the Whitbourne Anglican Church on Saturday, January 28 at 2pm.

DYKE, Annie Louise, It is with great sadness that our dear mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, sister and Aunt Annie Louise Dyke passed peacefully away at the H.S.C., St.John’s on Friday, January 6th, 2017, in her 95th year. She is predeceased by her husband, William, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
Leaving to fondly remember her amazing life are her daughters; Nora (Junior), Whitbourne, Enid (Howard), New Zealand, 5 grandchildren; Paul (Philly), Gander, LynnAnn, Whitbourne, Heather (Daryl), Halifax, Kyle, Edmonton, Amy (Luke), Australia. Her beautiful 2 great-grandchildren, Rachel and Erica, Halifax. Her only surving sister Nora Bradey, Eastport. Special mention to her nieces and nephews; Audrey Penny, Patricia and Steve Cooney, Joyce and Lee Greeley, Gloria Moss, Rev. Jacinthia Penney and Jonathan Penney

PARSONS, Mary Helen. Passed away peacefully on December 31, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family Mary Helen Parsons (nee Power) age 72 years of Markland. Predeceased by her husband Raymond, Mom and Dad Theresa & Albert, parents-in-law William & Susannah Parsons.

Alice Mary Kelly (nee Bruce) passed peacefully away on December 17, 2016 at 99 years of age.
Predeceased by husband Patrick Kelly, 3 children at birth, Brothers; Thomas, James, Morris, Dennis and Michael. Sisters; Susan Griffiths and Catherine Bruce.
Leaving to mourn Sister in laws; Camillia Bruce, Sophie Bruce, Jean Hurley and Anastasia Keating. Son James (Cathy) Kelly, Daughter Patricia (Gerard) Brothers, Grandchildren; Curtis (Amy), Evan, Leann and Sonya. Great Grandchildren; Taylor, Patrick and Lucy.
