I always enjoyed having a chat with Aunt Doss and reading her Facebook posts–sending deepest sympathy to all her family.
Rest easy beautiful lady! Deepest sympathy to all, Helen and family I know you will miss her dearly…that’s where I had the privilege of meeting this beautiful soul, at one of Helen’s dinner parties, probably Aunt Doss’s Birthday, many years ago…. I know how very special she was to you Helen. Thoughts and prayers to you and all her family.

The best mother I could have ever imagined. There was never a time that I needed you were not there. No fan fair just gave me the advice or information I was seeking. Throughout your life of many hardships you gave me the best that you could provide. Funny as we would say during our Skype chats, that gave us the opportunity to grow closer. I’m so thankful to my sister Syliva to have introduced you to the whole electronic world. Wow you even mastered that, as I sit here now and grieve there are to many memories to share. Want to say I thank you for everything you done for me throughout your life. I’m beyond proud to have had you as my mother. The last few years with our hours of conversations over the internet, as always we would pretend to hug each other before signing off I give you another one now. Mother you have made me a better person because of your unconditional LOVE. I will always miss you and love forever. We will meet again some day until then rest peacefully, I love you.
Our thoughts and Prayers are with you (Ray and Lonnie) and your family.

I only met Mrs.Cumby once at her son Garry’s 50th birthday party. She was such a sweet lady and it was heartwarming to hear her say with pride that her “baby” was turning fifty.
My thoughts and sympathy to all family and friends.
To the Family of Doris, our thoughts and prayers go out to you at such a difficult time. Doris was a woman of great love, and it didn’t matter who you were. I loved my 5 years in Green’s Harbour as Corps Officer, and each Sunday was made that much more special when I would look out and see Doris’s angelic smiling face. I am one of the many blessed people to have been her friend on FaceBook since leaving Newfoundland in 2011, and on many a night said I love you to the lady that she allowed many of us to call Mom. Doris will truely be missed, but we would be hard pressed not to have many special memories of her. Bless each of you in these days.
My condolences to the family.
I have known Doris for years. I was her foot care person when she was in London (also her daughter, Sylvia). Doris had indomitable spirit and was every inch a Lady! I will remember her always. Nancy Wilcox

To the Cumby family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you on the passing of your mom a very nice lady always got a hug when we met.
To the Cumby families – An angel was called to her heavenly home this past week and she will be sadly missed by her loved ones here on earth. Mrs Cumby (Doss) as I affectionally knew her was a very dear friend. She had a great sense of humor, and was very kind and thoughtful. She was loved by so many of us and will be missed dearly. Please accept heartfelt condolences on behalf of myself, and my daughter Michelle, who was delighted to meet her a couple of years ago. Michelle was amazed at this elderly lady and her computer skills. In my mind’s eye, as I pass her house daily, I will always see her sitting in front of the window while typing away on her computer. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. May she rest in peace.
My condolences to the family. I have fond memories of Aunt Doss throughout my childhood. Regular visits to her house in Green’s Harbour or her coming to ours where she’d join in family dinners and spend a night or two. I’ll always remember her love and talent for knitting, her smile and overall kindness.
It is so hard to know what to say, Mrs. Cumby was like a Mom to me when I was young. She always had a hug and a smile. She was a great example of loving unconditionally. She will be missed by all who knew her.
To all the Cumby family- It is with deep regret we learn of the passing of your beloved mother Doris, she was such a remarkable person who always had time to chat with you. She was truly loved by everyone who met her. May you all find comfort in your memories… Our deepest sympathy are extended to all the family.
Aunt Doss was always a familiar face growing up, and I always enjoyed popping down to her house in Green’s Harbour to have a visit when I was home. She was a remarkable woman, particularly given how she embraced social media into her 80’s and 90’s. My sympathy to all of her family.
Wanda our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as you lay this beautiful lady to rest. It was a pleasure meeting her .I wont be able to attend her farewell but you are all in my thoughts. RIP Angel
