Arthur Thorne

November 4, 1931 – December 3, 2016. THORNE, Arthur of Chapel Arm passed peacefully away at the Health Science Centre on December 3, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.
Predeceased by his parents Wilson and Bertha Thorne,  Brothers Lias, Sisters,  Pheobe Olive and Lillias. In laws, John and Lydia Thorne, Albert Smith, Dorthy Thorne, Keith Choate, Edward Thorne, Jane & Hary Newhook, Gerald Peddle. 
Forever loved by his wife of almost 57 years Edith Thorne. children: Curtis  ( Barbara), Bertha (Kenneth),  Cynthia (Craig), Catherine (Darrell), Linda (David), Kimberly (Donald), Arthur (Melissa),
Grandchildren,  Lee (Diana), Sheldon, Nicole (Ben ), Jayce , Cody (Isabella), Kelsey, Kali (Alex), Tasha, Samantha, Zachary, Jessica, Benjamin, Allyson, and Parker. Step grandchildren; Adam (Shannon), Mark (Melissa), Holly (Calvin). 
Great Grandchildren; Liam, Jayden, Sydney, Claire, Mason, Rachael, Spencer and Brody.
Sibling’s; Cecil (Nina), Della (Tom) , Madeline, Alfred (Lillian), Ted (Rhoda), Margaret, Ernest (Josie),  In-laws: Marina, Blanche (Saul), Rex (Maxine), Beatie, Bernard (Louise).  A large number of nieces, nephews,  and a large circle of friends.
Art was a man of great faith, he was always been an active member of his church. He was a member of the Orangeman’s Lodge, a member of the Town Council; and served on many committees. He was a wonderful husband, dad, pop, great pop, brother, uncle and friend. He will be forever missed.
Resting at  St. John the Baptist Church, Chapel Arm. Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 6. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at 2:00 pm.  Interment at the Anglican  Cemetery  Long Harbour Road.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. John the Baptist Memorial Fund or The Heart and Stroke Foundation. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Holloway’s Funeral Home.

    So sorry for your lost. I always regarded Art as my uncle. I will certainly miss him, especially during Christmas with his traditional visits! Be assure Edie that in time, God’s peace will come to you and your family.

    We have just heard of Art’s passing and are so very sorry for your loss. He was a lovely man and I remember fondly visiting him and enjoying his company. I will keep you and your family in my prayers and pray that Light Perpetual will shine upon him. God Bless you at this difficult time.
