Roger Stewart Morgan

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Roger Morgan announce his unexpected passing in Whitbourne on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the age of 53 years old. He leaves to mourn with fond, loving memories his lifelong partner and wife of 28 years, Beverley; son Ryan (Amy); Daughter Tara(Michael); grandchildren: Sebastian and Andre; parents Stewart and Carrie Morgan; Sisters: Shona (Terry) and Joanne (Dean), Mother and Father-in- law Ivy and Gerald Vaters, Brother- in- law Shawn Vaters (Christine) as well as a large circle of nieces, uncles, aunts and a close circle of lifelong friends.

Roger loved the outdoors and being active, but most of all he enjoyed the loving company of family and friends. He was known as a patient, helpful man with the ability to keep others grounded.  He was an active member of the community and dedicated to his profession as a millwright. Roger had a special love for his children and grandchildren. He leaves us with beautiful memories to celebrate his 53 years of life. His smile and laughter will be forever missed.

Visitation will be held at Holloway’s Funeral Home on January 26th-27th at 10am to 12pm, 1pm-4pm, 6pm-9pm. A funeral service will be held at the Whitbourne Anglican Church on Saturday, January 28 at 2pm.

He was salt of the earth and I will miss him, my sincerest condolences to his family.

  39. It is with heartfelt sympathy that I send my condolences to the Morgan and Vaters families. Roger was a very close friend and co-worker for the past 28 years. To say he was a Millwright doesn’t come close in describing his diverse knowledge of all other fields, whether it be carpentry, plumbing, cabinet-making, power engineering, water filtration systems, hydraulics, and the list goes on. So often we would joke to each other as we headed out to check on a piece of equipment that was malfunctioning as to whether it was his mechanical problem or my electrical problem. It didn’t matter anyway since we always stayed together until the problem was resolved, chatting about everything under the sun. Only time will allow us to gauge the full scope of the impact that Roger’s passing will have on NRC. Rest in peace my friend, you will never be forgotten.

  55. Joanne, I am so sorry for the lost of your brother. Hang on to the special memories and unbreakable bond that you hold with him. He is your angel now watching over you day and night, he is always with you. Days are going to be tough and missing him is going to be hard, but know he has never left you as he is always in your heart. Here is a little poem that sums up what I am trying to say:

You showed me a lot of things,
    I learned a lot I didn’t know,
But you forgot to teach me one last thing
    How to let you go,
I know you didn’t mean to leave me,
    Sometimes we have no choice,
    I miss being your sister,
Hearing my name called by your voice,
I wish I got to say “I Love You”
Before you were given to the sky,
If God could grant me one last wish
    I’d ask to say “Goodbye”
You always meant a lot to me,
I could never love you less,
I Know It’s True When They Say
    “HE ONLY TAKES THE BEST”

Your in my thoughts and prayers…Dee Russell

  61. Roger was a great work colleague and friend. He always went well above and beyond in keeping NRC facilities up and running and always with a smile. I enjoyed our motorcycle rides together and the moose sausages at his home.
Gone way too soon but will be long remembered.

  62. During my years of association with TP Stadium, since it’s inception, I have come to know Roger as a true competitor in minor, high school, senior and rec hockey. I had the opportunity to compete against him in the rec league for a few years. I always had the utmost respect for him as he had for his opponents and always brought a great sense of fair play and honesty to the game. He was probably the smoothest skater and the best end to end rusher I’ve ever played against. My thoughts and prayers go out to his loving family and friends. He will be truly missed.

  63. My thoughts and prayers are with the whole family at this most difficult time. Roger was a pillar of strength in the Morgan family. He was what everyman would be proud to call themselves, a faithful son and brother, loyal husband, caring father and great friend to all those who surrounded him. His caring spirit will live on through the large circle of family and friends that cared for him. I feel privileged to have known him and will forever miss his sense of humor. God bless you all
