William Herbert Blundon

BLUNDON, William Herbert. It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the sudden passing of William Herbert Blundon of Chapel Arm, age 76 years old.
Predeceased by parents Urias and Annie Blundon from Bay de Verde, in-laws George and Minnie Slade from Western Bay, sisters Margaret Hopkins and Ina Snelgrove, brothers -in law Fred and Will Slade, grandchildren Ashleigh and Brooke Fillier. 
Surrounded by his loving family at St. Clare’s Hospital who held his hand until the end. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Judy Blundon of 46 years, daughter Cynthia ( Darryl ), son David ( Kurt ), his most precious grand-daughter Brianna and his “grandsons” Gregory and Jeffrey White. Also left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his sister Janet ( Ian ), in-laws  Dennis (Brenda) Slade, Kevin (Diane) Slade, nieces and nephews and a large circle of family and friends.
Resting at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, Chapel Arm. Visitation Wednesday, and  Thursday  from  2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm. Funeral service well be held on Friday, May 12 at 2:00 pm. Interment to follow  at the Anglican Cemetery Long Harbour Road. No flowers by request of the family donations may be made to the Children’s Wish  Foundation or the Janeway Children’s Hospital Foundation.

  18. Very sad and quite a shock to hear of Will’s rather sudden passing. I knew him just about all my life as we grew up practically next door here in Bay de Verde. Talked with him many times over the years about teaching, family, fishing etc. but most of all about the history of Bay de Verde. Patsy and I offer our sincere condolences to the family at this difficult time.

  23. It is with great sadness that I learned of Bill’s (or Mr. Blundon, as he was best known to me) passing. I have fond memories of him as Vice-Principal at Norman’s Cove Elementary. My thoughts are with your family at this difficult time.

    I am still in shock after mom called on Monday night to share the news. I was saddened to hear and heart broken for your loss of a great man that I knew from a young age was a role model to me and I’m sure for many. I learned respect of your dad from a very young age and even as close family friends, you were always known to me as Judy and Mr. Blundon. I could never call him Bill. Bill has always been special in our lives like for so many others in the Chapel Arm/Norman’s Cove area -because of his community involvement in so many areas as well as for his desire to see everyone do well in life.
