PINSENT, Anthony of Bellevue, 85, died Sunday, July 30, 2017 at Health Sciences Complex in St. John’s following a brief illness.
He leaves his wife of 62 years, Marie, his daughter Kim Newhook (Derick), son Joe, grandchildren Sean, Colleen, Ashley, Brooklyn and great grandchild Harley. Preceded by his son Gerry.
Born and raised in Bellevue Anthony worked 28 seasons as a Fisheries Guardian with Fisheries and Oceans Canada. He was a kind, generous man and a great husband (but don’t ask Marie). He was da bestest Fadder ever! Always there with a great story and a generous soul who will be dearly missed.
Anthony will be waked at St. Ann’s Church in Bellevue, Newfoundland Wednesday, August 02, 2017 starting 11:00 am with a Wake Service at 7:00 pm. Funeral Service Thursday, August 03, 2017 at 11:00 am with a reception following at the Hall next to St. Ann’s Church.
Marie,Kim ,Joe and family,you all are on our thoughts and prayers at this time.I have some very fond memories of Anthony.He has some pretty great company waiting for him.Rest in peace AP,as Dad would say.
we feel so fortunate to have been a part of Anthony’s life. He was a kind and gentle man who loved to laugh and enjoyed having friends visit. Always there with a hug and a story for every occasion. God rest his soul. His presence in this world made it a much nicer place. He will be dearly missed.

Kim, so sorry to hear your Dad has passed. From the few times I met him at your home, he truly was a gentle soul. Just from the few stories you have shared with me about him, I know you have lots of fun and beautiful memories of him. His sickness is behind him now and he is at peace. So very sorry to hear of Anthony’s passing, I have fond memories of the times spent playing Pool and pinball at your place. The teenagers always met up there. And oh how eager Anthony was to help me when I first came to him with the photo of the Bellevue Hockey Team, I’d found online. Condolences to you and your family.
