Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family at Pleasant View
Towers, St. John’s on Thursday, March 7, 2019, Wilfred George White of
Markland, aged 62 years.

Wilfred enjoyed his 26 years of service at Newfoundland Power. He was
very thankful to have worked with such great co-workers. He was an avid
walker and hockey fan.

Predeceased by parents, George and Genevieve White; Father-in-law
Robert J. Griffin; and sister, Debbie Thorne (White).

Leaving to mourn with cherished memories are his wife of 36 years, Irene;
sons, Kyle (Leanna) and Steven (Marcia); grandchildren, Kaylee, Megan,
and Willow; sister, Barb (Harry) Mercer; brothers, Dean (Nancy), and Terry
(Jean); sisters-in-law, Mary (Richard) Power and Elizabeth (Wayne) Power;
as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will be receiving visitors at Holloway’s Funeral Home,
Whitbourne on Saturday, March 9, 7:00 – 9:00 PM; Sunday, March 10, 2:00
– 4:00 PM and 7:00 – 9:00 PM.

Funeral service to take place Monday, March 11, 2019 at St. John the
Baptist Anglican Church, Whitbourne at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Wilfred’s memory may be made to the
Alzheimer’s Society of NL.

The family would like to thank the staff of 1 South East at Pleasant View
Towers for their care and compassion towards Wilfred.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Holloway’s Funeral Home, Whitbourne.

  1. Saddened to hear the news of Wilfs passing. I’ve known Wilf through working with him at NL Power over the years and have many great memories of our working days. We know you’ll cherish all the great memories you have of him and remember the good times. This certainly is a dreaded disease and robbed him of the best years of his life. Thinking of you all during this difficult time in your lives. We are currently away on vacation but would be there if we were home, god bless you all.

  2. Thinking of you all at this very hard time. Remembering uncle Wilfred with many loving memories. We are taking comfort in knowing he is tormented no longer from the illness that stole his most treasured memories year after year. He loved his family so much, his pride and joy.     We are so sorry to learn of your husband’s passing.
