TEMPLE, Allison,Passed peacefully away at the Private Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, Allison Temple (nee Kennedy) of Long Cove, age 90 years. Predeceased by her husband Wilson; Parents:  Levi and Bessie; Brothers: Bill, Angus, Malcolm and Sisters: Grace and Cora. Leaving to mourn a large circle of family and friends.

Special thank you to the staff of Shag Rock Manor and the Private Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion for their wonderful care.

Cremation has taken place.

Visitation to celebrate Allison’s life will take place at Holloway’s Funeral Home on Saturday , April 10, 2021 at 1:00 – 2:00 pm.

Funeral service will follow at Holloway’s Funeral Home at 2:00 pm. Internment  at the United Cemetery at Norman’s Cove.  Due to Covid restrictions  the visitation and service  is by invitation  only.

Donations in Allison’s memory can be made to the Bethel  United Church Norman’s Cove – Long Cove or a charity of one’s choice.

’Time is a companion that goes with us on a journey. It reminds us to cherish each moment, because it will never come again. What we leave behind is not as important as how we have lived”.

    She gave so much to the church and to the community.
    She was a wealth of knowledge
    So thoughtful and considerate
    Always there for anyone who needed help. She will be greatly missed. God bless her. Rest in peace Allison.

  10. She was so nice and funny and smart.. Mom and I used to bring her fresh trout in the summer.. She loved her Charlotte’s and she was so energetic..So sad to hear this news.. Much love from Myself and Mom… Myrtle Peddle..

  14. Worked with Allison while I was the minister on the Norman’s Cove Pastoral Charge 1985-1988. A great church worker (treasurer for decades) and a great community leader. Condolences to the family and her many friends. She will be missed…..RIP!

  15. I (Doreen) have so many memories of Allison. Seventy years ago she was the first teacher of us born in 1945. A memory she told about that year was Sylvia Smith, decided she didn’t want to go to school and left. So many memories of Allison are floating through my mind . She was a crucial part of our growing up. Many of our parents were the mainstay of the church that she became such an important part of. I am grateful for the impact she has had on my life.

  16. Allison was a wonderful person with a wealth of knowledge. I attended many executive meetings of the United Church Women with Allison ,she was our treasurer for many years . The members of the Burin Area , UCW send our condolences to her family and friends.

  18. We have both know Allison for many years. Allison was very much involved in the life of her church and the District UCW and was a very quiet and caring individual. She was supportive of me (Roscoe)during my ministry on the Norman’s Cove Pastoral Charge. I (Isabelle)always enjoyed my interactions with her at District UCW functions. She will be sadly missed by her many friends within the church community.

  19. So sorry to hear this sad news! So many great memories from being my first grade teacher to singing in the church choir and watching her in church plays. It seems as though she was always a part of my life growing up and it was always great going home and seeing her. RIP Allison.
